Read When I laugh my circumstances become more bearable

When I laugh, my heart is lifted, and my burdens feel lighter. A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. I laugh at the enemy who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. What He intends for evil, my God will use for the good. Gratitude for the good things of God makes it easy for me to laugh.

My mouth is filled with laughter, and my tongue with shouts of joy. Indeed, when I laugh, it is a testament to the great things the Lord has done for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. And He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagles as I trust and wait on the Lord!

In times of trouble, I remember He will fill my mouth with laughter and my lips with shouting. He rejoices over me with singing. He quiets me with His love. Even in the midst of difficulties, laughter can fill my mouth as He brings me joy.

Laughter also brings healing to my soul. A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but from the sorrow of the heart, the spirit is crushed. When I choose laughter, I am choosing to mend my spirit and find comfort in the midst of pain.

Laughter is good medicine. I look to see how God sees my pain. He speaks life and hope and truth. He tells me to be a child to enter His Kingdom. A 4-year-old laughs 300 times a day and a 40-year-old laughs about four. I want to be more like His child.

I am joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer. When laughter fills my heart, it becomes easier to hold on to hope and trust in God’s plan for my life.

I remember there is a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance. In this moment, I am embracing the time appointed for joy.

When I laugh, I let go of anxiety and trust in God’s provision. I am not anxious about anything, but pray about everything with thanksgiving. As I trust in Him, the God of hope fills me with peace and joy so I can overflow with hope by the power of Holy Spirit. He makes known to me the path of life; you fill me with joy in His presence, with eternal pleasures at His right hand.

A cheerful heart has a continual feast. When laughter fills my heart, it is as if I am partaking in a feast of joy and contentment that surpasses any worldly circumstances. Laughter reminds me of God’s goodness and faithfulness. The Lord has done great things for me; I am glad. When I laugh, I am expressing my gratitude for all the great things God has done in my life.

Today, in laughter that I find strength, healing, and joy. I am reminded of God’s presence and provision in every aspect of my life. So I embrace laughter and find solace in its transformative power. I am thankful I can laugh.

Reflection Questions to ask Holy Spirit:

  1. How can I cultivate a joyful heart and incorporate laughter into my daily life to experience the healing and strength it brings?
  2. Am I prioritizing times of laughter and joy in my life, especially during difficult circumstances, to remind myself of Your faithfulness and provision?
  3. In what ways can I spread laughter and joy to those around me, being mindful of the contagious nature of a joyful heart?

I figured it was the group I grew up in, so we’re the only ones I should probably poke fun at. Apparently some people didn’t’ know that about me. One day I came back into the class with a fresh cup of coffee before the break was over. There was a group in the back corner and I went to see what was going on. One of the guys turned to me and said, “Can you believe these guys still think tongues is still a gift for today?” “Hey me too!” I laughed, “I pray them every day!” Then I challenged, “How do you strengthen yourself
