Before the mighty men of David were the might men of David, the excitement of their return to Ziklag quickly became a time of mourning. They lost their homes, their live stock, their possessions and their families. Each man was bitter and they talked about stoning David who had led them into the this mess.

I strengthen myself with the Word. I have hidden His word in my heart so I might sin against him. His word is life. His word is hope. He cleanses me with His word. It is living and active and sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword and cuts between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes my innermost thoughts and desires. I let His word read me.
