When was the last time you felt freedom?

Maybe it’s a daily occurrence - you could be a 7-year-old staying at Grandma’s during summer holidays - but more than likely it’s been a minute. “Adulting” was a word that was in vogue a few years ago. When kids moved out of the house and had to do the things that were always done for them before, they’d explain they were “adulting”. It wasn’t a bad use of the word.

But freedom isn’t freedom from responsibility, to freedom to be who God created us to be. In our freedom we’re to serve one another in love. Those who the Son sets free are free indeed. We are not to be entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Through His great promises He has given us everything we need for life and godliness, through our knowledge of Him.

I am under no condemnation in Christ. I have been saved by grace, through faith. It is a gift of God not a reward for anything I’ve done. I am free!
