4 Ways to Live a Happy Life

We all want to live happy, but have you though about how can we have happiness?

If you are religious, then you know we receive happiness through God. But how exactly do we achieve that? The scriptures give clear answers to this question. However, there are several attributes we must understand and develop.

Be Happy Understanding of God's Plan

John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

Jesus Christ has overcome everything for us. When we understand that, through Him, we can overcome anything and everything, a wonderful peace settles in our hearts. We will be capable of ignoring the trivial things of the world because we know He has prepared a way for everything to be made right. It creates a feeling of security that cannot be faltered by any worldly struggle.

Be Happy in Obedience

John 13:17 "If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them."

Jesus Christ taught all that is necessary to receive eternal life. We know what is required of us and all we need to do is try our best to follow His teachings. There is power in obedience. When we know we are doing all we can to become more like Jesus Christ, it brings a happiness like no other. A happiness that changes our lives.

Be Happy Not Condemning Yourself

Romans 14:22 "Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth."

No one is perfect. We must accept that we will make mistakes. Jesus taught that we need to repent to receive forgiveness and part of repentance is forgiving ourselves. Satan uses doubt and embarassment as tools to make us forget our potential. God will always give us feeling of upliftment and hope. When we forgive ourselves, move on, and try to become better, our lives will be filled with hope and excitment of who we can become and not who we were before.

Find Happiness in Patience

James 5:11 11 "Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy."

We all know that life is not easy. We all experience trials and hardships; sometimes they seem unbearable. Reflect on every difficult experience you have been through. Can you think of any were no lessons were learned? God blesses us with challenges so we can grow and become better. When we endure those challenges with patience and trust that God knows what He is doing, we will learn so much more. You will notice your level of happiness will skyrocket, especially during those hard times in your life.

I am grateful for the happiness I have been able to feel as I have strived to develop these attributes. I invite you to expiriment with these steps. But above all, I invite you to pray, search the scriptures, and rely on God for ways you can experience happiness personally.

I figured it was the group I grew up in, so we’re the only ones I should probably poke fun at. Apparently some people didn’t’ know that about me. One day I came back into the class with a fresh cup of coffee before the break was over. There was a group in the back corner and I went to see what was going on. One of the guys turned to me and said, “Can you believe these guys still think tongues is still a gift for today?” “Hey me too!” I laughed, “I pray them every day!” Then I challenged, “How do you strengthen yourself
